Kid's Activities
Mutton Bustin'
The Justin Boots Mutton Bustin' has a huge fan base and is a crowd pleaser. This competition features some lucky and fearless children saddling up a lively sheep in hopes of hanging on for 6 exhilarating seconds. The crowd is on their feet with cameras in hand to capture these adorable and unforgettable moments. Each contestant receives a souvenir and commemorative Mutton Bustin' bandana.
The Mutton Bustin' takes place during every rodeo performance. Participation is limited to boys and girls between weighing less than 50 pounds at the time of competition. Information is distributed in January to local schools. San Angelo schools may select two (2) participants from each school and out of town schools may select one (1) participant. Entries must be received from a local elementary school. Participants will be notified at the beginning of February which performance they have been selected for.
If you have any questions regarding the Mutton Bustin' please contact the Stock Show office.
