When is the entry deadline? The entry deadline for all Junior Shows is December 1 (postmarked). Late entries are accepted through December 15 (postmarked) for a double entry fee. Entries are still accepted until the day of the show for a $200 fee per entry.
Do entries have to be submitted online? Yes. All entries must be submitted online by the CEA/AST. Open Show entries may be submitted online but is not mandatory. The online entry system is unavailable after December 1.
What is the CTBR Texas Stars Gilt Show? The CTBR Texas Stars Gilt show contains both a pedigreed and non-pedigreed division. All gilts must be state validated and have a CTBR certificate. To be eligible for the pedigreed division, the gilts must be registered in their respective breed registry in the exhibitor's name by December 1. The non-pedigreed division consists of all gilts without papers (crossbred or non-registered purebreds).
Does my gilt need to be validated in order to compete in the Junior Breeding Gilt Show? No.
Can I bring animals in before the posted time? No. Due to the amount of animals in each show and clean-up efforts, we do not allow animals to be left in the barns either before or after a specified show.
How are stall arrangements made? Stalling will made on a first-come, first-served basis. If you would like to be stalled together, you must arrive together. No stalls are pre-assigned or reserved.
Is there a charge for cattle tie-outs? No. These are on a first-come, first-served basis and are free of charge. However, bedding is not provided for outside cattle tie-outs.
Do I need to purchase extra gate passes for exhibitors? Each exhibitor and judging team member (including Ag Mechanics exhibitors) will receive gate passes, as well as the CEA/AST. All parking passes must be purchased during the online entry process or the day of the show.
If I make the Premium Sale, am I required to care for my animal until the sale date? No. Our committees will tend to all sale animals leading up to the day of the Premium Sale; however, the exhibitor is welcome to care for their own animal but it may not be removed from the fairgrounds.
